Smartex ran another of its successful and highly popular two-day workshops, on 3/4 November in Manchester.  Over 40 operators and other stakeholders in Smart Transport attended.  The first day was devoted to presentations by ITSO management covering all aspects of the ITSO specification, its history, operation and administration, supplemented by two extremely interesting presentations from TfGM and TfN.  The second day comprised nine wide-ranging sessions, led by leading specialists in their fields, covering the essentials of smart card technology, the future of payments, a comprehensive survey of UK Smart Transport initiatives, the role of contactless EMV in public transport,  what operators want from smart train journeys, addressing what passengers want and ways to improve the journey experience, the impact of mobiles for smart ticketing, payment and many new applications, and the revolutionary MultiPass project.

Due to the popularity of these workshops, a further similar event is now planned for Bristol on 7/8 March 2016.  Smartex is also developing an ITSO masterclass for early 2016.
